I'm back!

Wow - I can't believe I'm back. After a whole day of work, it feels like my weekend never happened!

Well, the vegan spa was quite cute. It was a very small place, with some Spanish influence. A couple of girls there were carrying these handbags, which I thought was really great. I was carrying one too, so it was great to chit-chat. Especially because I'm obsessed with purses!

Later that day, I pulled myself onto a train with the hubby, and off we went to Montreal. There were plenty of snacks had on the train. We reached our fabulous hotel room, changed into fluffy white robes, and decided to watch a movie in our room. At this stage, we were a bit peckish, and ended up devouring a full bag of sour cream and onion chips. Yes, still donned in our robes. Nothing shameful about that!

Saturday and Sunday were nice and relaxing - lots of shopping, wandering around - and in fact, the eating wasn't atrocious. We ate at a very healthy restaurant for lunch, and Saturday night we splurged on a yummy Thai dinner. Unfortunately, Thai food doesn't seem to be sitting well with me these days, so I didn't eat that much.

So, the worst offense was the chips. Okay, and an ice-cream sandwich I ate in the railway station on the way back. That's about it.

I'm back today, with a new sense of resolve. I had delicious oatmeal and fresh-cut strawberries for breakfast, with a glass of milk. I had a yummy veggie burger and a grapefruit-orange juice at lunch (Tax - if you're reading this - the burger was from Juice For Life, and as you can see, I still haven't given up grapefruit!). I'm starving now, waiting for the hubby to come home. I have had some low-fat nacho chips, and a few soda crackers. Still, I wish he'd hurry up and come home so that we can eat! And then I'm planning to go for a 5K walk.

It feels good to have had the break, and to have reflected on my goals. Before, I felt like I was caught in a whirlwind that kept picking up more speed as each day passed. Slowing down, putting things in perspective, and setting new goals was really good for me.

So, with a new sense of renewal, I begin that journey again. Long overdue, I know. But sometimes we all need to hang out at the rest-stop for awhile, to catch our breath.

Great to see you back after some obviously necessary rest, relaxation and some fun snacking, too!

Your weekend sounds so great!!! The spa vey lovely, the chip eating in bathrobes the best part by far, the Juice For Life burger wonderful (I am envious!) and great you did not give up on the grapefruit! I would have felt guitly otherwise!

I also had a three days pretty food crazy break: it has been my b-day and I ate like a pig anything that passed in front of me. Starting tomorrow I must be up on that diet wagon again and see a relevant drop by the end of the month or else I will loose all hopes!

We CAN do this!!!
