Mother and Child

I think this pregnancy is finally starting to hit me, physically. I'm usually very energetic, but I can feel the tiredness sinking in. At work this week, I just wanted to put my head on my desk and take a nap! This week has been really rough, too - so that could have something to do with it.

A friend of mine at work is due to have her baby any day now. At the beginning, I used to think - gee, by the time she gives birth I won't be long after....and now we're getting there. Just about two months to go now!

The crib arrived last week. Did I already post about that? With baby brain, I can't remember! It feels weird to have it here - I've barely gone in the nursery. We need to get that room organized, and then I can post some pictures. A warning, though - I'm not big on lots of colours and themes. The room is painted a very warm almond colour. The curtains are a little lighter. The furniture is natural wood. The feel of the room overall, is very bright and warm. In terms of furniture we'll have the crib, change table/dresser, and a rocking chair/glider. We've got some really nice art to put up on the wall, like the one above. It's "Mother and Child" by Klimt. I bought it AGES ago - actually, soon after I found out I was pregnant. There's something so beautiful and maternal about it.

Other than that, my eating has been so-so. I have been craving a lot of sweet stuff. It's making me wonder whether I am, in fact, having a girl. But all along, I've been feeling boy. Who knows? I am getting excited to find out! I'm still going to aquafit and yoga - despite how busy last week was, I made the effort to go. I was SO glad afterward.

I decided to leave work a little earlier than planned - in a couple of weeks. It's what's best for me and the baby. I'm looking forward to having lots of leisure time to read books, do yoga, bake, and just prepare myself emotionally for the life change that's about to happen. It was a tough decision, but the right one.

On that note - I'm going to grab some breakfast and go out for a long walk...and since hubby is still sleeping, I can steal his iPOD without him freaking out...:-)

I love the picture! Good for you for taking more time off work before the baby comes - you and the baby are the most important and it will be a well deserved rest!!!

That's a wonderful painting. Awww I am getting so excited for you. I have baby fever on the brain. I am trying really hard to get down to a weight I want to be before I get pregnant, so I can be totally healthy. Ofcourse I want to wait til after Yosemite to actually get pregnant, so I can enjoy it. I'm still planning though.

Christy - thanks, it was a tough decision, but I'm looking forward to it. As long as I don't spend every waking hour *waiting* for the baby, I'll be okay.:-)

Sarah - Good to plan, and good to be at a healthy weight. I had lost about 35lbs before I got pg, and I'm SO glad I did. It's hard enough carrying this baby weight around now - I can't imagine what it would be like with an extra 35lbs. And DEFINITELY enjoy Yosemite - getting pg can wait a few weeks! These trips are once in a lifetime. Hubby and I did so much travelling, and I'm so happy we did now.

The nursery sounds beautiful, I can't wait to see pics.
I thinks its great you will take some time off before the baby arrives. You'll get much needed rest and relaxation in. You deserve it!
Love you!
