The facts, in brief

Here it is:
  • I'm up a pound from last week.
  • This is no surprise, because I had a very crappy weekend.
  • I just wrote a sentence about how it's okay, because I'm still down 2.5 over two weeks.
  • But that would be an excuse to make me feel better.
  • And I shouldn't rationalize this, because it's not okay.
  • I need to try harder.
  • Today went okay, until the afternoon.
  • And then I had a bit of an issue with some leftover chocolate chips and baking I did over the weekend.
  • I'm lucky, because I have a husband who is so supportive of me.
  • He came home, and I then had a bit of a meltdown about my general state of overwhelm.
  • He made me realize that I've just gone through the biggest change EVER in life.
  • And that I'm probably eating junky stuff to soothe myself.
  • He's a smart man, and is absolutely right.
  • Ironically, I feel a million pounds lighter after talking it out.
  • Goes to show you that addressing the root cause of eating is extremely important.
  • I haven't nipped in the bud or anything, but I feel so much better now.
  • And then my daughter woke up from her little nap, and gave me a big smile.
  • Which inspired the bejeezus out of me.
  • So I'm dusting myself off, and getting back down to business.
  • As long as I keep getting up after I fall down, that's what matters.

Never give up, never give up, never give up!!! :)

Life isn't all or nothing. You are working on big lifestyle changes in regards to nutrition and exercise, as well as the whole new world of being a mommy. You will fall down - a lot, but you will get closer to your goal each time you pick yourself back up. Trust me. :)

Tomorrow is a new day, and you sound like you are ready for it!!

Great job on working through it.
It's hard to ignore that chocolate calling out your name in the cupbpard, but when you do resist, and you ignore the chocolate, it's such a proud moment and it feels so much better than the chocolate would taste!!!
Keep up the great work!

I so agree with Kim. Dusting yourself off and getting back up is victory.

i agree a lot with what kim has to say.

we all have our own things that prevent us from being 100% game, but we are getting there, step by step every day by the little changes we decide to commit to.

your doing great sonya!

i'm sure what your hubby said, is something you already knew but having HIM say it - perhaps made it more real... you HAVE gone thru a major change and to crave things is probably natural but you have a great attitude and that's what's important... :o)

Aw, Sonya, I'm sorry to hear that you had a hard time! It's always terrible when that overwhelming sense takes over. But, it sounds like you're right back on track and you have some awesome support. I haven't had kids yet, but I think that pregnancy is the BIGGEST possible thing your body can go through, so cut yourself some slack. You keep going, slowly and surely.

Take care,
PSG

Your husband is a smart smart man.

If I had that chocolate in the house, it would have been gone the same night I baked with it. Good job.

Remember - it's all baby steps and you are definitely stepping in the right direction.

I echo all that has been said, no point saying it all over again. Enjoy your new day.... and if you can't resist it, don't have it in the house!

Great post. You're so right about food not being a solution to problems. Does your husband do classes on sensitivity? If so I'm signing my husband up.

Every day is a new day, and that's one of the best things about life!!
