Bring it!

First of all, thanks for all of your lovely support about my running. Although I was initially disappointed, I'm fine with it. I'm still moving towards my goals, and that's what matters! I'm still going to run a race towards the end of the summer/early Fall, even if it's just a 5K. I ran a 5K before I got pregnant, and I'm going to work on improving my time for this one. I'm still excited!

Besides - it's not like running is on hold forever or anything!:-) Probably about a month, and I can get back to it. Just in time for beautiful May weather.

After a fairly lazy Sunday (except for my stroller walk in the blustery weather to find some books at a store that turned out to be closed when we got there!), I really didn't feel like cooking. But then I realized that it was going to throw my whole week off if I didn't plan, so I got myself up off the couch and started a'chopping. I made some Indian-style mixed veggies, along with spicy chick-peas. And now, we've got another dinner for the week! I also managed to bake a loaf of this delicious banana bread for my hubby. I know, I know, dangerous territory is that baking. But I managed to make the loaf, and only shared a very small piece with him. The rest is now sliced up, wrapped in cellaphane, and will be off to work with him tomorrow. I feel good about that.

Though I will say that I'm annoyed that my husband will eat that entire loaf of banana bread this week, and won't gain a single frickin' pound. Not one. Why why why? Le sigh.

I am SO pumped for this new week. Maybe it's my training session on Tuesday that I'm looking forward to, or maybe it's the fact that I'm feeling like I'm back on track. Whatever it is, I feel awesome!

I've also got these delicous sweet potato fries in the oven right now, to have with my lunch tomorrow. I'd better go and check on them.

Good night!

My hubby is the same as yours! He can eat anything sweet and yummy without gaining a single ounce! All I have to do is look at it! ;)

Good luck with your training! :)

You talk about Carson having an infectious smile, well you my friend have an infectious attitude. I gotta admit I was BRUTAL this weekend with regards to food but I'm feeling so bad about it that I'm determined to turn it around and work even harder then ever to start getting back into shape. The stroller is by the front door ready for the week ahead - I plan to go walking for an hour every day and go to three classes at the gym. We decided to hold off signing up at my lean and fit class until I have a good two-thre weeks under my belt of getting back into it, to make sure my heart is there.

So, thanks for the constant motivation and your wonderful attitude that's helping me get back into it.

And spicy chickpeas, I gotta find out how you make them. I LOVE chickpeas.

Makes you sick when a guy can do that... but hey, one day it will catch up with him! It did with my hubby, when I met him he could eat a horse and not gain a pound, but now he's in his mid 40's it's a struggle for him to stay in shape.. heee hee hee. Oh bugger I'm not nice - must try harder.

I have to not compete in the foot race I was planning to enter. I understand.
