Monday, Monday

The start to another gorgeous week - the sun is shining so beautifully out there!

My break-up with Mr. Chocolate was unsuccessful. We aren't really "back together" or anything, but we did share a few smooches here and there last week.;-) It's very hard to go cold turkey, so I think I might take some of your suggestions of minimizing but not eliminating.

Well, here's a goal recap from the last few weeks:

(1) Exercise at least 4 times
(2) Drink 3L of water per day
(3) Break up with chocolate (ahem).
(4) Eat out only once/week.

My exercise wasn't great last week, and my water intake hasn't been consistent. So, I'm going to use this week as a "repeat" of all my goals.

Well, I snuck a peek at the scale this morning. The bad news is, I haven't lost weight. The good news is, I haven't gained any either. Insert sigh of relief.

I know you're probably thinking that I should have lost at least a few pounds by now, given my weekly goals each week. But I've been sucking in the worst way when it comes to my eating. And I haven't really attempted to construct any goals around that as yet. I just have very little self control when it comes to sweet and fatty foods. And really, it's all just one big bad habit that I need to work at breaking.

So while my eating has been less than optimal, I haven't been gaining because of the other things that I'm doing. Not bad for now - but I need to get into loss mode pretty soon.

Hubby and I are planning a weekend to NYC at the end of this month. There will be lots of good eating. Lots. So, I'm going to try really hard to be good over the next couple of weeks so that I can splurge without too much guilt.

So, I'm going to keep up with all of my goals from the previous weeks AND try and exercise a little restraint when it comes to food. My fridge is stocked with soooo many delicious vegetables and fruit. AND I made a delicious vegetarian lasagna last night - chock-full of vegetables - so there are no excuses for the rest of the week.

Tonight for dinner, I'll be baking marinated veggies (asparagus, portabello mushrooms, red, yellow, green peppers, garlic, and red onion), along with some roasted tofu. I'm going to serve it all up on a bed of greens and maybe top it with some goat cheese. Yum.

Nothing else to report...I wish I had made more progress by now, but I'm not going to dwell on it. It's all about moving forward now!

Well... at least you havn't gained eh? That's good in itself, so I'm hoping you can have a good week (as I am trying to do) and have a wee loss next week.

Sonya, girlie :) I truly believe that what you are doing is being accountable...that in and of itself is so hard to do. I have so much respect for you! A maintain week is just as awesome as a loss week, so CONGRATS!
XOXOXO

The important thing is that you have not been gaining weight. At least you are maintaining.
Also another great thing is that you are setting goals for yourself and trying to get active. That is a very good thing!!

Ooohh! NYC will be fun -- and it's the perfect city to do lots of walking... you'll be active there, I'm sure. Maybe you could start the C25k program in Central Park! (I'm such a dork- I go to a new city and I get excited about the new places I can go running or biking...)

No gain is good news and thats what more important. We have all been known to give into temptation, at least your cut down on your chocolate consumption. Bit by bit and you will get to where you want to be. Have a great week.

Sonya, keep up the good work! You know what i've written before... the ups and downs are NORMAL... the feelings of frustration mixed with elation and sometimes jubilation followed by exasperation... you just have to keep your chin up and know that you are making lifestyle changes. And change TAKES TIME!

Mr. Chocolate is a hard fellow to break up with... i haven't been able to do it, but i haven't exactly tried either!!

Your dinner of baked veggies w/roasted (!?!?!) tofu is one of my fave things to eat.

i'm so excited for your trip to NY!!! i wish i could go with you guys!!

Keep thinkin' positive. Dwell on that for a while! :o)
