Day one is over, and now comes the hard part.:-)

Day One came and went yesterday without incident. I always find that Day One is the hardest to start, but also the easiest to get through in some ways because my motivation level is still high and the "novelty" factor hasn't worn off! But I am mighty proud of myself for getting through the day.

The key to getting through it was making sure that I wasn't hungry. I kept eating protein-filled snacks throughout the day (cottage cheese, protein shakes, yogurt) to keep me going. Plus, I tried to keep very busy so that I couldn't think about wanting sugar! I also managed to get in a solid one hour walk, so I'm very happy about that.

It's amazing how empowered I felt making good choices throughout the day. I need to remember that feeling when I want to cave in, and devour a chocolate bar! Really, it does wonders for the self esteem when you're taking steps in the right direction.

I can do this, I can do this, I can do this! I know I've said that a million times - but I refuuuuuse to give up. This is it!

I've planned out most of my meals and snacks for the day, so I'm going to stay right on that track! When Hubby comes home, I'm off to the gym for some cardio and weights tonight.

Day Two, three, four and five - watch out, here I come!

Good luck

The first day was okay for me and even fun. It was the days after that really got to me.

I like sugar substitutes maybe a bit too much. I use splenda in my oatmeal, in my dressings and on raw carrots with cinnamon. I eat a lot of carrots. I also like fresh apples with salt to get rid of my salty sweet crunchy cravings. I also started freezing chocolate again.
