It's been a not-so-bad week thus far. Eating has been in check for the most part. But the thing that I absolutely SUCK at is exercise. I can't seem to get it together for the gym. There are a million reasons why - but when I start to write them out here, they suspiciously start to sound like something that resembles excuses......
I know that I have to get my butt to the gym. That's the only way it's going to work. For me, my exercise drives better eating - not vice versa. So, I just need to get my act together and do it! Tomorrow morning, hubby is working from home. I'm going to get up early and have a workout. Plus, I signed up at a swanky new gym a couple of months ago and my membership card is collecting dust! Argh.
Another non-scale victory today. I went out to lunch with a bunch of other moms and babies. We went to one of my favourite restaurants - they have amazing sweet-potato fries and other delicious stuff. I ordered a bunless burger with grilled red peppers and eggplant, and a protein shake (rasberries, cranberries, yogurt, and ground flax seeds / maca). I felt SO good! When I looked at the menu, I just "blocked out" the other stuff, and told myself that I didn't have a choice. And then it was easy.
Another busy night, so we had to order take-out. I ordered steamed greens (kale, broccoli, bok choy) on brown rice with spicy tahini sauce and crispy tofu cubes. And then, I drizzled some hot sauce on top. It was delish!
Body is now fully fueled for the workout tomorrow morning! I'm looking forward to going.
My bike wheels keep falling out of the groove of the path. It's really frustrating. But it's because I stop pedaling, you know? I get off to a brilliant start, and I veer off course. As impatient as I am, I'm going to keep it slow and steady. And yes, I'll win the race.:-)
