Oh, thank you, scale gods!

Down 3lbs!

But I'm at the early stage of sugar elimination again, where I feel tired and headachy and generally angry at the world. I need to ride this out - it's really hard.

There's a yoga class I'm going to at the gym tonight - I've packed my stuff, and will go over straight after work. It means I won't see my daughter today, which really sucks - but I'm starting to realize that I have to make tradeoffs every now and then - especially if I'm trying to get healthy. It's hard, though - I feel very guilty.

Oh - the class that I was talking about in my blog entry yesterday, is a running class! Isn't that cool? They have a bunch of treadmills, you sign out an iPod and a Nike + thingie (which tracks your distance), and shoes. The iPod gives you a "program" to run with, and there's an instructor around to movitate you. I think it's very cool. If I'm brave after yoga tonight, I might try that tomorrow.

I have to admit, it took some self-convincing to go to the yoga class tonight. I thought about waiting until I was in better shape, or giving it a few more weeks - and then I decided, forget it! Even if I am at the back of the class, even if I feel shy, even if I can't get my body into a bunch of the positions - it's time to start. I'm trying to focus on how awesome it'll feel when I'm done. The gym is full of gorgeous people, and perhap some of them will leer at my wobbly body. But whatever - this is my journey, and there's no room for feeling sorry for myself!

Will post after the class. Going for my second consecutive loss next week!

YAY for your huge loss! That is so great! Keep it coming.

So glad you are taking the yoga class. I can't wait to hear what you think of it. I started taking it in December and I don't think I've missed one week yet. I absolutely love it. Hopefully you have a great instructor because I think it makes all the difference in the world. I seriously walk out of yoga feeling rejuvenated and worry free!

The running thing sounds so great too! I have been thinking about getting back into running but got the no go from my physio therapist since I have a joint problem in my back. The iPod thing sounds great too so you won't have to look at the clock all the time, he OR she will tell you whent o run and when to walk. How awesome is that!

Hope you have a great weekend and I can't wait to hear all about your first yoga experience!

congrats on the loss!

I'm glad you self-talked yourself into going to yoga. Yoga is so much about your own personal practice - you will find that no one will be paying attention to how far you go into a pose except maybe the teacher to give position corrections.

It is funny that we all have the urge to wait until we are in shape to try the things that we need to do to get into that shape. HA!

Way to go! Congrats on the loss, that's a huge loss.

Good for you for tackling the yoga class and not waiting until you thought you were "ready". I don't do yoga myself but everyone I know who does it loves every minute of it and only has good things to say.

The running class sounds super fun! Can't wait to hear about it!

A running class? That sounds awesome! And congrats on the loss - I know this must have been a fairly stressful couple of weeks with all the major life adjustments, but it sounds like you're doing great with it all!
