Day 22: Here I am again!

I'm so amazed at how a few pounds lost can make such a huge difference. My attitude is different, my clothes feel better, and I have a little spring in my step. What is it going to feel like after the next ten? And the ten after that? I can't wait.

Today was another amazing milestone. Given the weight around my mid-section, I often have a tough time doing bendy things. It's not impossible, but you'll definitely hear the murmur of a grunt under my breath. Today, I was able to give my daughter a bath without huffing or puffing once! It felt great. I started to realize all the things I'm going to be able to do with her once all the weight is off. I feel like I've been missing out on something, but it's never too late, is it?

Another great day. I took my kids to an amusement park with my dad. My dad isn't exactly the best example when it comes to healthy eating. He suggested that we just grab some pizza or fries for lunch when we were planning our day last night. Even though I woke up late this morning (rough night with the baby!), I packed a healthy lunch for everyone. PB&J on whole wheat bread, some grapes, organic apples, a chick-pea salad with cherry tomatoes, peppers, and cucumbers, and juice boxes for my daughter and dad. And because I believe strongly in "treats" on special occasions and on fun days, I also packed a few baked cheezies for my daughter. We walked around like crazy all day, and I ate a protein bar on the way home.

I'm not sure how my weight is going to go this week - my eating has been so-so over the last couple of days*, and exercise has been non-existent. But today's choices made me feel like I'm in control again. As soon as the sun goes down tonight, I'll be going for a run to celebrate.

I'm off to guzzle some water now.

*There have been trigger foods in my house. Chocolate and Indian Sweets. Two of my biggest, biggest weaknesses. I was being all cavalier over the weekend about how I could have them around the house without a problem. Was I ever wrong. It's going to take a big longer for me to resist stuff like that, and that's the way it is. Until then, I'm banishing that stuff from my house!
