2010, here I come....

I've always been big on New Year's resolutions and goals. It's a time for reflection and resolve: especially as a new decade falls upon us.

Somehow this year, I feel differently about making resolutions. I do have goals for myself. But being a bit of an over-achiever, I'm hesitant to make a long laundry list of resolutions that I'd love to keep only to have it be unrealistic. Without fail, I'll be disappointed if I fall short of my list.

So this year, I'm feeling a bit different about it all. My list is simple:

  • Laugh at least once a day;
  • Before I go to sleep each night, be thankful for everything in my life, instead of focusing on the things that I don't have;
  • Be brave enough to try something I haven't done: a new sport, a new food, or maybe attending an event to meet new people;
  • Learn to love myself, and the person I've become.
I've learned so much about myself as a person over these last few months. I think it has a lot to do with becoming a mom again. Whatever it is, I'm filled with determination and resolve. And adventure.

I would really like to celebrate the dawning of 2011 at my goal weight. But I've realized something: making a resolution like that is useless. It's the means to getting there that really counts. So that's what I'm going to work on. Being healthy, determined, focused, and adventurous. And laughing lots along the way.

It's finally time to make this happen, and this is going to be the year!

Here's to taking it one step at a time, slow and steady, until we reach the end.

I like it, slow and easy with lots of laughter it is!
:):) And yes, becoming a Mom (again) changes perspective in many ways!

I like the simplicity of your list. In its simplicity, it encompasses almost all the events in your life. I hope you have a wonderful new year!

Those are FANTASTIC goals. Looks simple enough, but those are all things easily forgotten. I hope resolving to do them keeps them at the forefront of your mind.

Happy New Year!
